Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 17, Verse 6

Shraddhatraya Vibhaga Yoga

karṣhayantaḥ śharīra-sthaṁ bhūta-grāmam achetasaḥ māṁ chaivāntaḥ śharīra-sthaṁ tān viddhy āsura-niśhchayān

Translation

senselessly tormenting the elements of the body and Me who dwell within the body: know them to be of demonic resolve.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

A remarkable statement: harming one's own body through misguided austerity also torments God, who lives within it. The body is not an enemy to be punished but a temple to be cared for. This matches 6.16–17, where Krishna says yoga is not for one who eats too much or too little.
