Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 14, Verse 6

Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga

tatra sattvaṁ nirmalatvāt prakāśhakam anāmayam sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena chānagha

Translation

Of these, sattva, being pure, is illuminating and free from affliction. It binds, O sinless one, through attachment to happiness and attachment to knowledge.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

This is a subtle insight: even goodness binds. Sattva brings clarity, calm and health, yet one can become attached to feeling good, or proud of being wise. A "golden chain" is still a chain. The Gita values sattva highly, but the goal lies beyond it (verse 20).
