Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 14, Verse 4

Gunatraya Vibhaga Yoga

sarva-yoniṣhu kaunteya mūrtayaḥ sambhavanti yāḥ tāsāṁ brahma mahad yonir ahaṁ bīja-pradaḥ pitā

Translation

Whatever forms are born in all the wombs, O son of Kunti, the great Brahman is their womb and I am the seed-giving father.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

This verse is the basis for the idea that every living being, human or animal, shares one father. It is a strong ground for the Gita's teaching of equal vision (samadarshana) in 5.18 and 6.29. Nature is the mother of all bodies; God is the father of all souls.
