तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमः । नाशयाम्यात्मभावस्थो ज्ञानदीपेन भास्वता ॥ ११ ॥
teṣhām evānukampārtham aham ajñāna-jaṁ tamaḥ nāśhayāmyātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā
Translation
Out of compassion for them, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy the darkness born of ignorance with the shining lamp of knowledge.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
हे अर्जुन! उनके ऊपर अनुग्रह करने के लिए उनके अंतःकरण में स्थित हुआ मैं स्वयं ही उनके अज्ञान से उत्पन्न अंधकार को प्रकाशमय तत्त्वज्ञान रूप दीपक के द्वारा नष्ट कर देता हूँ।
Commentary
One of the most tender images in the Gita: God, living in the devotee's heart, lights a lamp of knowledge out of pure compassion (anukampā). The last of the four essential verses shows that grace completes what devotion begins.
