Commentary
Arjun is called Kapidhwaj, "he whose banner bears the monkey" — Hanuman, who according to tradition promised to ride on Arjun's flag. At this moment Arjun is every inch the warrior, bow raised, ready to begin. That makes the collapse that follows all the more striking.
