मोघाशा मोघकर्माणो मोघज्ञाना विचेतसः । राक्षसीमासुरीं चैव प्रकृतिं मोहिनीं श्रिताः ॥ १२ ॥
moghāśhā mogha-karmāṇo mogha-jñānā vichetasaḥ rākṣhasīm āsurīṁ chaiva prakṛitiṁ mohinīṁ śhritāḥ
Translation
With vain hopes, vain actions and vain knowledge, senseless, they take on the deluding nature of rakshasas and asuras.

वे व्यर्थ आशा, व्यर्थ कर्म और व्यर्थ ज्ञान वाले विक्षिप्त-चित्त अज्ञानीजन राक्षसी, आसुरी और मोहिनी प्रकृति को ही धारण किए रहते हैं।
Commentary
Mogha — "vain, futile" — repeated three times. Hopes, actions and knowledge cut off from the Divine end up empty, however impressive they may seem.
