Bhagavad Gita — Chapter 6, Verse 6

bandhur ātmātmanas tasya yenātmaivātmanā jitaḥ anātmanas tu śhatrutve vartetātmaiva śhatru-vat

Translation

For one who has conquered the self by the self, the self is a friend; but for one who has not, the self behaves like an enemy.

Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)

Commentary

Continuing 6.5, this verse says our own mind can be our best friend or worst enemy. The difference is whether we have trained it. No outside enemy can harm us as much as an undisciplined mind.
