शनैः शनैरुपरमेद्बुद्ध्या धृतिगृहीतया । आत्मसंस्थं मनः कृत्वा न किञ्चिदपि चिन्तयेत् ॥ २५ ॥
śhanaiḥ śhanair uparamed buddhyā dhṛiti-gṛihītayā ātma-sansthaṁ manaḥ kṛitvā na kiñchid api chintayet
Translation
little by little one should become still, with an intellect held firm by patience; fixing the mind in the Self, one should think of nothing else.

क्रम-क्रम से अभ्यास करता हुआ उपरामता को प्राप्त हो, तथा धैर्ययुक्त बुद्धि द्वारा मन को परमात्मा में स्थित करके परमात्मा के सिवा और कुछ भी चिंतन न करे।
Commentary
Śhanaiḥ śhanaiḥ — "slowly, slowly." The Gita does not promise instant results. With dhṛiti (patient steadiness), the mind is gradually settled in the Self. This encourages beginners who find meditation difficult.
