न हि ज्ञानेन सदृशं पवित्रमिह विद्यते । तत्स्वयं योगसंसिद्धः कालेनात्मनि विन्दति ॥ ३८ ॥
na hi jñānena sadṛiśhaṁ pavitramiha vidyate tatsvayaṁ yogasansiddhaḥ kālenātmani vindati
Translation
Truly, there is nothing in this world as purifying as knowledge. One perfected in yoga finds it within oneself in due course of time.

इस संसार में ज्ञान के समान पवित्र करने वाला निःसंदेह कुछ भी नहीं है। उस ज्ञान को कितने ही काल से कर्मयोग द्वारा शुद्ध अंतःकरण हुआ मनुष्य अपने आप ही आत्मा में पा लेता है।
Commentary
Knowledge is not delivered from outside like a parcel; it dawns within (ātmani vindati) "in due time," after sincere practice has prepared the mind. Patience is part of the path.
