Translation
Sanjay said: Having spoken thus to Hrishikesh, Gudakesh, the scorcher of foes, said to Govind, "I will not fight," and fell silent.

संजय बोले: हे परंतप (राजन्)! हृषीकेश से ऐसा कहकर गुडाकेश अर्जुन ने गोविन्द से "मैं युद्ध नहीं करूँगा" कहा और चुप हो गए।
Commentary
"Na yotsya" — I will not fight — are Arjun's last words before the teaching. For Dhritarashtra, listening in Hastinapur, this may have sounded like good news for his sons. Sanjay's next verse will quietly dash that hope.
