अक्षराणामकारोऽस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य च । अहमेवाक्षयः कालो धाताहं विश्वतोमुखः ॥ ३३ ॥
akṣharāṇām a-kāro ’smi dvandvaḥ sāmāsikasya cha aham evākṣhayaḥ kālo dhātāhaṁ viśhvato-mukhaḥ
Translation
Of letters I am the letter A; of compounds, the dvandva (copulative). I alone am imperishable time; I am the creator facing all directions.
Hindi Meaning (हिंदी अर्थ)
मैं अक्षरों में अकार हूँ और समासों में द्वंद्व नामक समास हूँ। अक्षय काल अर्थात् काल का भी महाकाल तथा सब ओर मुख वाला, विराट स्वरूप, सबका धारण-पोषण करने वाला भी मैं ही हूँ।
Commentary
"A" is the first letter and, in Sanskrit, present in every consonant as its inherent vowel — so God is present in all speech. The dvandva compound joins words as equals, perhaps reflecting God's even-handedness.
