आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान् । मरीचिर्मरुतामस्मि नक्षत्राणामहं शशी ॥ २१ ॥
ādityānām ahaṁ viṣhṇur jyotiṣhāṁ ravir anśhumān marīchir marutām asmi nakṣhatrāṇām ahaṁ śhaśhī
Translation
Among the Adityas I am Vishnu; among lights, the radiant sun; among the Maruts I am Marichi; among the stars, I am the moon.

मैं अदिति के बारह पुत्रों में विष्णु और ज्योतियों में किरणों वाला सूर्य हूँ; तथा मैं उनचास वायुदेवताओं का तेज और नक्षत्रों का अधिपति चंद्रमा हूँ।
Commentary
The pattern of the vibhūtis begins: in each category, God is the best or most striking example. Among the twelve Adityas (sons of Aditi), Vishnu — as Vamana — is chief.
