Commentary
Duryodhan begins listing the Pandava side's champions, and the list itself reveals his fear. A maharathi was a warrior able to fight ten thousand soldiers single-handed; by naming so many, he makes the smaller army sound overwhelming. Yuyudhan is Satyaki, Krishna's kinsman; Virat is the king who sheltered the Pandavas in their year of hiding; Drupad is Draupadi's father and Drona's old rival.
