व्यामिश्रेणेव वाक्येन बुद्धिं मोहयसीव मे । तदेकं वद निश्चित्य येन श्रेयोऽहमाप्नुयाम् ॥ २ ॥
vyāmiśhreṇeva vākyena buddhiṁ mohayasīva me tad ekaṁ vada niśhchitya yena śhreyo ’ham āpnuyām
Translation
With seemingly mixed words you are confusing my understanding. Tell me decisively the one path by which I may reach the highest good.

आप मिले-जुले से वचनों से मेरी बुद्धि को मानो मोहित कर रहे हैं। इसलिए निश्चय करके वह एक बात कहिए जिससे मैं कल्याण को प्राप्त होऊँ।
Commentary
Arjun wants a single clear rule. His honesty is valuable: many readers of chapter 2 feel the same tension between "act" and "be detached." Krishna's answer will show that these are not two opposing instructions but two sides of one path.
