Sanjay said: Seeing the Pandava army drawn up in battle formation, King Duryodhan went to his teacher Drona and spoke these words.

Commentary
Sanjay does not answer the king's question directly; he starts with Duryodhan, and that choice says a great deal. The Kaurava army is the larger one, yet the first thing its leader does on seeing the enemy is hurry to his teacher — a sign of unease rather than confidence. Sanjay also calls him "king," gently reminding Dhritarashtra whose ambition has brought the armies here.
